GOALS AND COMMITMENTS —
Dwight D. Lewis candidate
for Volusia County Council District 1
I believe securing jobs for our citizens is a top priority
One of my first activities as your County Council District 1 elected official will be to address methods to create good-paying permanent jobs for everyone who wants to work.
I have a lot of creative ideas that will provide an atmosphere of economic security for Volusia County.
I believe in a safe and secure environment for our children
Dwight helped lead the successful passage of the Volusia Forever and ECHO Programs.
He fought the Walmart Distribution Center in the Haw Creek Basin and worked on the Rose Bay Restoration Project.
He served on the Volusia Forever Board, which has set aside 33,000 acres of land for conservation.
Dwight uses the best interests of the citizens of Volusia County as the standard for all of his governmental decisions. In a future frought with changes that no one can predict — Dwight is prepared to use his skill, judgement, experience and integrity to guide him.
I believe in open government with public access
My constituents know from my record that I will gladly sit down with anyone (who has a problem or question) in an effort to find the solution. As a councilman I will meet publicly or one-on-one to discuss the future of Volusia County. Your voice is my mandate.
I have learned that even the perfect solutions must have the backing of the people. Your approval will steer Volusia into becoming one of the most productive counties in Florida.
I believe by working together we can have a “bright future”
Dwight has worked together with community organizations and leaders for over 20 years. Some of the areas in which Dwight Lewis has shown continuous leadership for years are:
